Key Details
Call: Interreg IPA ADRION (1st Call)
Project Acronym: A4SUSTINNO
Project Duration: 30 months
Project Priority: Supporting a smarter Adriatic-Ionian region
Objective: Strengthening innovation capacities in the Adriatic – Ionian region
Start – End Date: 01.09.2024 – 28.02.2027
Total budget: EUR 1.692.736,00
The overall objective of the project is the development and testing of a highly replicable business model for the ADRION area that will constitute a novel supporting mechanism for innovative start-ups and existing SMEs. This will be achieved through setting up distributed local networks of relevant actors, following a quadruple-helix approach, redesigning of training modules to include sustainability and quality, and development of a web platform for identifying start-ups’ training needs. In other words, the overall objective will be a distributed and interregional 1-stop-shop for less-developed innovation ecosystems.
Nine local networks in the partner areas and one interregional network consisting of partners and APs, including a large number of stakeholders, enhanced accelerators with new modules for including sustainability and QM issues, and an innovative digital platform for matching the needs of the start-ups and SMEs with the appropriate training modules, will be the main project outputs. Pilot demonstrations through a jointly developed acceleration programme and one interregional will be implemented in all partner areas. The main beneficiaries will be all the actors of the innovation ecosystems in the ADRION area.
The novel methodology will be tested extensively in nine areas with different characteristics, so that the final outcome will be applicable throughout the whole ADRION area. Furthermore, the user requirements for the platform will satisfy the needs of all partner ecosystems, due to the deeply transnational approach in the development of all outcomes.
The innovative features consist of the very unique matching of training needs offered by the digital platform, and the distributed Science and Technology Parks type of mechanism that will be created in each local ecosystem, by summing resources and capacities of all relevant stakeholders. This way, an almost full range of services could be offered even in areas with minimal support structures. Even more important will be the creation of a new generation of entrepreneurs, who are sensitive and trained for more sustainable and quality operation.
The project kick-off meeting took place in Patras, on 07-08/10/2024, at the PSP premises.
The project is co-funded by the European Union, through the Interreg IPA ADRION 2021-2027 Programme.
