Technology Transfer Office is bringing the productive sector closer to academia, research institutions and research organizations and it is able to identify, monitor, commercialize and manage intellectual property produced in the ecosystem.

Technology Transfer Office is bringing the productive sector closer to academia, research institutions and research organizations and it is able to identify, monitor, commercialize and manage intellectual property produced in the ecosystem.

Moreover, in cooperation with other PSP units and the ecosystem stakeholders, initiate activities towards industry and academia collaboration, organize workshops between ecosystem partners and continuously map ecosystem activities in order to enable external partners to get into it. Specifically:

  • Scouting and monitoring of research teams and technologies
  • Cooperation with companies willing to introduce new technologies or innovations in their production processes
  • Build strong bonds and long term relationships between researchers and industry
  • Use of scientific and technological equipment
  • Intellectual Property Rights management
  • Exchange of good practices for supporting entrepreneurial culture
  • Initiation of “proof of concept” projects and open innovation schemes
  • Networking with other TTO’s in Greece and abroad

PSP is at the heart of Technology Transfer

The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of the Patras Science Park of (PSP) focuses on:

  • the connection of the productive sector of the region with the research sector of the country in order to transform innovative ideas into products and services
  • the commercial exploitation of the results of scientific and technological research
  • the securing copyright of the intellectual and industrial property rights which are related to the utilized knowledge (signals, patents, know-how, etc.)
  • Networking of companies and researchers with the international community so as to create stable partnerships and implement good know-how transfer practices

TTO Activities of PSP

  • Support innovative products, services and processes from the idea stage to their commercialization (creation of spin-off, start-ups, etc.)
  • Advisory guidance for the commercial exploitation of the results of scientific and technological research and the securing of the relevant Intellectual Property Rights
  • Support for the finding and exploitation of technological cutting-edge facilities and laboratory equipment of the production sector
  • Encourage young researchers to follow a process of supporting their innovative ideas and integration in an incubator
  • Cultivation of entrepreneurial culture and consultation support for researchers
  • Networking of the TTO of PSP with corresponding national and European knowledge transfer agencies
  • Creation of a platform for communication and cooperation with all the knowledge production bodies of Western Greece
  • Create research tools for potential collaborations for new products/services
  • Promotion of research activities and innovative products.
  • Organization/ participation in Open-Coffees
  • Establishing contacts with technological ecosystems in international level
  • Promoting collaborative schemes (hubs, virtual innovation support, etc.)
  • Submission of proposals in calls regarding the entrepreneurship sector, innovation & transfer of know-how
  • Organizing Innovation Competitions
  • Annual evaluation of TTO activities by an external evaluator

  • Seminars on exploiting Innovation for researchers and students
  • Information on issues of intellectual property, patents, creation of spin-offs, finding resources, funding

Evangelia Gralista

Web Design Internship

Evangelia Gralista from Trikala,Greece is in her senior year at University of Patras in the department of mathematics. She is currently working as a web design intern at Patras Science Park (PSP).

Vicky Tomara

Development Director

Vicky studied Business Administration at Athens University of Economics and Business and she got a M.B.A. from University of Patras. Her experience and background focus on supporting businesses-academia partnerships. Especially, she has been primarily activated in innovation supporting tools, while she worked in the past as an economist and research project manager in the industry. She has a good knowledge of the Greek innovation ecosystem actors, including academia, research institutes, regional and central governmental organizations, entrepreneurs and industry. She contributed to the launch and development of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office of the University of Patras where she served as a Technology Transfer Consultant for 4 years. She acted as the principal organizational officer on behalf of the University of Patras for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Patras IQ Innovation Exhibition. Also, she contributed to the launch and development of the Technology Transfer Office of Patras Science Park and she involved in the building of the collaborative network between both CERN procurement and CERN Technology Transfer Group with the Greek start up community & enterprises. She is currently the Development Director in Patras Science Park, she is member of the Advisory Board of the Proof of Concept and she participates in the selection committee in various regional innovation competitions.
